Operation

Anheuser-Busch Wholesalers, together with 12 breweries and a vast network of shippers, provide the most extensive and effective beer distribution system in the brewing industry. Refrigerated warehouses and computer-based inventory systems make sure our Retailers and Customers get the freshest, highest-quality beer available anywhere.

Although we serve Champaign, Danville, Decatur, Springfield and their surrounding areas, our main office and warehouse are located in Decatur, Illinois.

We moved into our present facility in May of 2006, and it occupies a total of 20 acres. In July of 2014, we finished construction on a new addition so our offices and warehouse now cover a total of 170,000 square feet, 74,000 of which is environmentally controlled. Our entire sales operation is fully computerized.

Beer is picked up daily from the Brewery and distributed to our retail customers by a fleet of 25 route trucks and multiple vans.

Skeff Distributing Company, Inc. employs just over 110 full time employees, both union and non-union.

In order that beer may be delivered to our customers in "Brewery Fresh" condition, it is imperative that precise temperatures be maintained in the storage area. We operate a "C.E.W." (Controlled Environmental Warehouse) in which the temperature inside the packaged beer area is directly related to the temperature outside the building in conformity with standards set by Anheuser-Busch, Inc. The C.E.W. system is fully automated and periodic checks are made to ensure the temperature controls are functioning properly. In addition to our C.E.W., we also maintain a constant 34 degrees year round in our draught beer cooler.

Our facility also includes the Eagles Nest Gift Shop , located inside the main entrance to our offices. The gift shop features Anheuser-Busch Branded Products including men's & women's apparel, accessories, novelty items, utilities, and more. The Eagles Nest Gift Shop is open during our regular hours of operation, Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
